I know that I have probably caught you with an inundation of blog posts, but over the past few weeks I have done my blogs on Wednesday, but I want to start getting back to my regular time-frame of Saturday blog posts, just so that I can keep on track and tell you about my wonderful explorations into the world of gaming! If you listened to the stream yesterday when I was on the call and Kashi was playing Mass Effect MP, then you probably heard what game I have delved into, but for those who did not catch the show, the game that I have been all but addicted to as of late is Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES, which recently came out on the PlayStation Network as a PS2 classic for $9.99.
I honestly don’t even know where to start with this game. Have you ever played something where even though you have only played a little bit (I’m roughly 3 hours in), you know that it is already shaping up to be not only an incredibly deep game but also one that could become one of your favorite games of all time? This is how I feel while playing Persona 3. I am starting to comprehend the ins and outs of the systems, and I find them to be challenging, but not exceptionally so, or to the degree as to where I would want to stop playing because it is too difficult. I think that the Social Link system is really unique and rewards the player for good actions but does not punish them for their choice (for example, going to build the social link with one person will not destroy your social link with another (at least now)). Its kind of difficult to really surmise my feelings towards this game, outside of the fact that I know that I really enjoy it, and I can see myself sinking a very large amount of time into it, because the packaging is so intriguing to me, and the core gameplay is strong enough to the point where the game is very lucrative to me.
We shall see where my journey with Persona 3 takes me, but I would not be surprised if this is the game that I end up sinking the majority of my gaming time into over the next month or so. Hopefully my schedule will allow me to start blogging on Saturdays again, but until next time
